Vitamin supplements are used to supplement a high-quality diet, particularly when starting up in the spring, after a period of stress (transport, introducing new fish, handling), or as winter approaches.
Two methods of administration are available: Malamix 17 from Koi Doctor, in 1, 2.5, and 5-liter bottles, is added directly to the pond water, with a dosage that depends on the volume; Colombo Vita Spray is sprayed onto the food just before feeding. To choose the right format, calculate the actual volume of your pond and follow the dosage indicated on the packaging.
A supplement is no substitute for good quality water or a well-sized filter: regularly check nitrites, ammonia, and pH.
