Quartz for UV-C devices

The quartz sleeve protects the lamp of a UV-C device while allowing its radiation to pass through. Fragile, it must be handled with care. How to identify the correct quartz sleeve?

Note the brand, the exact model, the wattage and, when necessary, the year or generation of your UV-C device. Then compare the part number with the one in the manual or the exploded view. Two devices with the same wattage may use different quartz sleeves: the power in watts is not enough to confirm compatibility.

Clean or replace the quartz?

A deposit on the quartz can limit the passage of UV-C rays. For maintenance, follow the manual and use a compatible product. A cracked or broken sleeve must be replaced; also check the seals according to the manufacturer's instructions. Switch off the power supply before any intervention and never operate a UV-C lamp outside of its protective housing.
